About

 David Daubenfeld is a young Luxembourgish conductor, recognized for his friendly, focused approach and his clear, forward-thinking artistic vision.

In the 2025/26 season, he makes his debut with prestigious orchestras such as the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, and the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra. He also continues his close artistic relationship with the RomaTre Orchestra in Rome, returning for the fifth time following his highly acclaimed debut in May 2024.

Expanding his operatic work, David begins new collaborations as assistant conductor at the Ópera de Tenerife for Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer and with the Kammerakademie Potsdam for Johann Christian Bach’s Zanaïda.

He holds a Master of Music from the Cologne Conservatory of Music and Dance (Germany). During his studies, he served as chief conductor of the university’s symphonic wind ensemble and founded a chamber orchestra dedicated to Classical and Romantic repertoire.

In 2023, David conducted several ensembles, including the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera, and the student symphony orchestra of the Wuppertal University of Music. Earlier, in 2016, he appeared with the Ural Conservatory Symphony Orchestra as the youngest guest conductor in the ensemble’s history.

Since 2022, David has been assistant to renowned conductor Dima Slobodeniouk, assisting projects across Europe with leading orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonic, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, and others.

As a former orchestral musician, he has worked with ensembles including the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Vorpommern, Klangforum Wien, and again the Philharmonie Südwestfalen.

David is quintilingual, fluent in Spanish, French, German, Luxembourgish, and English — and is continuously improving his Italian.
